1. Every year, even more treatments are proposed for autism. Parents are often absolutely
overwhelmed about what to do and where to turn for good information. ASAT can help parents
and other consumers separate the wheat from the chaff.
2. Simply type in “autism treatment” and see what comes up in your internet search. Against a
backdrop of ads promising the moon, ASAT uses Google Ad words to help consumers access
accurate information about autism treatment.
3. Nearly every penny goes toward spreading our message that science matters as ASAT has little
overhead. Board members, Advisory Board members, Externs, and Committee members are all
volunteers and ASAT is run by a quarter time Executive Director. They generously provide their
time and expertise because they are deeply committed to ASAT’s mission.
4. Science in Autism Treatment (SIAT) is an information-packed, quarterly newsletter. It is
completely free, and with your generous donation we can continue to keep it that way.
SIAT subscribers include over 9,000 parents, teachers, students and researchers. Your
contribution can help us reach 12,000 subscribers by the end of 2014.
5. We continue to look for opportunities to reach out across the world through our
newsletter. Currently, we have subscribers residing in over 90 countries, and with your support
we can reach 100 countries in 2014.
6. We maintain a comprehensive website that features a Clinical Corner, a Consumer Corner,
interviews, article synopses, book reviews, and more. With your help, we can continue to provide
up-to-date information about science-based intervention.
7. Time is of the essence for effective treatment. ASAT can be a guiding light in a long journey of
ongoing treatment decisions. Your financial support will enable us to continue to provide
information, insights, and strategies to parents and professionals alike.
