Our next free workshop on "How-to Start an Effective Community Self-Help Support Group," will be held on Satafternoon, April 13th,  2-4:30 pm, at the Wayne Public LibraryWhile the training is free, one must just pre-registerhttp://www.mededfund.org/NJgroups/Brochure04-13-13Start.pdf in order to attend. It's a fine way to learn the "nuts & bolts" of how to join with others to get a new self-help (i.e., member-run) group started, and those attending get to meet with other individuals who are planning to develop other  types of self-help (i.e., member-run) mutual support groups.
Please note: If the person cannot come to the Wayne Workshop, but they’re truly interested  in joining with others to help start needed new mutual support group in NJ, they can still phone our Clearinghouse for help. Here's how we can help them:http://www.mededfund.org/NJgroups/How_we_help_people_start_gps.pdf

Instead of publishing an annual paper Directory that becomes dated too soon, to educate both the public and families to the wide variety of many community support groups available, we’ve started distributing sample listings of all the different support groups available in any NJ county. Here’s where one can view or print out those handouts: http://www.mededfund.org/NJgroups/Groups_By_County.htm  Each 2-page handout cites SPAN and includes a direct link to your group listings.

For details on group meeting locations, times and contacts any time, on ALL the specific ADDICTIONMENTAL HEALTHABUSE VICTIM support group meetings here in NJ, as well as for some helpful resource handouts, go to:http://www.mededfund.org/NJgroups/QuickLinks_NJgroups.pdf

To get details on any of the thousands of other New Jersey and online support groups for most any PHYSICAL ILLNESSCAREGIVER burdenDISABILITY,  PARENTING challenge, BEREAVEMENT situationTRAUMATIC experience, or any one of hundreds of other stressful life situations, one can still get the most up-to-date info by simply phoning our NJ Self-Help Group Clearinghouse toll-free helpline at 1-800-367-6274, more easily remembered as 1-800-FOR-M.A.S.H. (Mutual Aid Self-Help)  We hope to add these thousands of other New Jersey groups, to our online database next year, if we can rewrite our unique database software to handle online inquiries for so many groups.
